Tīrtha-vaṃśa Upadeśa: Instruction on the Fruits of Sacred Waters
अत्युक्रान्ताश्व धर्मेषु पाषण्डसमयेषु च । कृशप्राणा: कृशधनास्तेभ्यो दत्त महाफलम्
atyukrāntāśva dharmeṣu pāṣaṇḍa-samayeṣu ca | kṛśa-prāṇāḥ kṛśa-dhanās tebhyo dattaṃ mahā-phalam ||
Bhishma nói: Bố thí cho những người tránh xa các lối đạo tà vạy, giả trá; những kẻ nghèo túng, kiệt sức vì thiếu ăn—sẽ sinh phước quả lớn lao. Ý nghĩa đạo đức là: bố thí càng thêm công đức khi nâng đỡ người thật sự khốn khó và ngay thẳng, chứ không tiếp sức cho sự giả danh tôn giáo để trục lợi.
