Tīrtha-vaṃśa Upadeśa: Instruction on the Fruits of Sacred Waters
हृतस्वा ह्तदाराश्ष ये विप्रा देशसम्प्लवे । अर्थार्थमभिगच्छन्ति तेभ्यो दत्त महाफलम्
hṛtasvā hṛtadārāś ca ye viprā deśasamplave | arthārtham abhigacchanti tebhyo dattaṃ mahāphalam ||
Bhishma nói: Khi đất nước rơi vào tai biến và loạn lạc, những bà-la-môn bị cướp mất tài sản, bị đoạt mất vợ, có thể đến cầu xin phương kế sinh nhai. Bố thí cho những kẻ cầu xin đang lâm nạn ấy sẽ sinh phước quả vô cùng lớn, vì nâng đỡ người vô tội trong thời thế sụp đổ và gìn giữ dharma bằng lòng từ mẫn cứu tế.
