Tīrtha-vaṃśa Upadeśa: Instruction on the Fruits of Sacred Waters
क्रियमाणे5पवर्गे च यो द्विजो भरतर्षभ । न व्याहरति यद्युक्त तस्याधर्मो गवानृतम्
kriyamāṇe ’pavarge ca yo dvijo bharatarṣabha | na vyāharati yadyuktaṃ tasyādharmo gavānṛtam ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Hỡi bậc trượng phu của dòng Bharata, khi một nghi lễ nhằm cầu ‘giải thoát’ (apavarga)—một hành vi thiêng liêng tích công đức—đang được cử hành, nếu một người ‘hai lần sinh’ (dvija) không thốt ra lời thích đáng và được quy định, thì sự thiếu sót ấy trở thành adharma đối với người ấy—một điều bất chân nghiêm trọng như lời dối trá về một con bò.”
