Shloka 23

अहिंसयित्वा ब्रह्महत्याविधानम् / Brahmahatyā incurred without physical violence

वैश्वदेवं च ये मूढा विप्राय ब्रह्मचारिणे । ददते नेह राजेन्द्र ते लोकान्‌ भुज्जतेडशुभान्‌

vaiśvadevaṃ ca ye mūḍhā viprāya brahmacāriṇe | dadate neha rājendra te lokān bhuñjate 'śubhān ||

Bhishma nói: “Tâu đại vương, những kẻ mê muội ở đời này không dâng phần cúng Vaiśvadeva—thức ăn phải được san sẻ—cho một vị bà-la-môn giữ hạnh brahmacārin, sẽ phải thọ hưởng những cõi bất tường. Lời dạy nhấn mạnh rằng sự sao lãng lòng hiếu khách hằng ngày và việc chia sẻ thiêng liêng, nhất là đối với những người cầu đạo có kỷ luật, sẽ dẫn đến hậu quả tai hại sau khi chết.”
