Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca |

karandhamo naraśreṣṭhaḥ kathadhmorakṣa narādhipaḥ |

dakṣo 'mbharīṣaḥ kukuro raivataś ca mahāyaśāḥ ||

Translation

Bhīṣma nói: “(Hãy nghe thêm) danh xưng của các bậc vương thánh lỗi lạc: Karandhama, bậc nhất trong loài người; Kathadhmora, chúa tể giữa các vua; Dakṣa; Ambarīṣa; Kukura; và Raivata lừng danh.” Trong toàn chương, Bhīṣma đang trình bày một bài liệt danh công đức về các minh quân chính trực; việc tưởng niệm và tụng đọc được xem là nuôi dưỡng dharma và đem lại lợi lạc tâm linh.
