तस्माद्‌ दद्यान्न याचेत पूजयेद्‌ धार्मिकानपि । सुभाषी प्रियकृच्छान्त: सर्वसत्त्वाविहिंसक:

Transliteration

tasmād dadyān na yāceta pūjayed dhārmikān api | subhāṣī priyakṛc chāntaḥ sarvasattvā-vihiṃsakaḥ ||

Translation

Bhīṣma nói: “Vì thế, hãy tự mình bố thí, chớ cầu xin người khác. Hãy tôn kính những người sống theo Dharma, nói lời thiện, làm điều lợi ích cho muôn loài, giữ tâm điềm tĩnh, và không làm hại bất cứ sinh linh nào.”
