गुरुभ्यस्त्वासनं देयमभिवाद्याभिपूज्य च । गुरुम भ्यर्च्य वर्धन्ते आयुषा यशसा श्रिया
gurubhyas tv āsanaṁ deyam abhivādya abhipūjya ca | gurūn abhyarcya vardhante āyuṣā yaśasā śriyā ||
Bhishma nói: Khi thầy đến, hãy cúi lạy, kính lễ đúng phép và dâng chỗ ngồi. Phụng sự guru với lòng tôn kính như vậy khiến thọ mạng, danh tiếng và phúc lộc của con người tăng trưởng—bởi thế, nghi thức tiếp đón cung kính trở thành một thực hành dharma cụ thể.
