सर्वथा यत् पशून् पाति तैश्व यद् रमते सह । तेषामधिपतिर्यच्च तस्मात् पशुपति: स्मृत:
sarvathā yat paśūn pāti taiś ca yad ramate saha | teṣām adhipatir yac ca tasmāt paśupatiḥ smṛtaḥ ||
Vāyu nói: “Vì Ngài che chở muôn loài trong mọi cách, vui thích ở giữa chúng, và đứng làm chúa tể, kẻ giám hộ của chúng, nên Ngài được ghi nhớ với danh xưng ‘Paśupati’—Chúa Tể của các loài hữu tình.”
