ज्योतिर्भूत: परमोडसौ पुरस्तात् प्रकाशते यत्प्रभया विश्वरूप: । अप: सृष्टवा सर्वभूतात्मयोनि: पुराकरोत् सर्वमेवाथ विश्वम्
jyotirbhūtaḥ paramo 'sau purastāt prakāśate yatprabhayā viśvarūpaḥ | apaḥ sṛṣṭvā sarvabhūtātmayoniḥ purākarot sarvamevātha viśvam ||
Bhīṣma nói: Ngài—Ánh Sáng tối thượng—hiện ra ở phương Đông, mang hình tướng vũ trụ; nhờ quang huy của Ngài mà toàn thế gian được soi chiếu. Ngài là lòng mẹ sinh thành và là Tự Ngã nội tại của mọi loài. Thuở hồng hoang, trước hết Ngài tạo ra nước, rồi mới sinh thành toàn thể vũ trụ.
