गवां मध्ये तु पठतो गावो<स्य बहुवत्सला: । प्रस्थाने वा प्रवासे वा सर्वावस्थां गत: पठेत्
gavāṁ madhye tu paṭhato gāvo ’sya bahuvatsalāḥ | prasthāne vā pravāse vā sarvāvasthāṁ gataḥ paṭhet |
Bhishma nói: Với người trì tụng (thánh tụng) giữa đàn bò, bò sẽ trở nên hết sức trìu mến đối với người ấy. Vì vậy, dù vào lúc lên đường hay khi sống xa quê nhà, trong bất cứ hoàn cảnh nào, người ta cũng nên tiếp tục trì tụng. Lời dạy nhấn mạnh sự tu tập bền bỉ và sự đáp lại hiền hòa, che chở mà nó khơi dậy nơi các loài hữu tình.
