प्रमाणं प्राणनिलय: प्राणभृत् प्राणजीवन: । तत्त्वं तत्त्वविदेकात्मा जन्ममृत्युजरातिग:
bhīṣma uvāca | pramāṇaṁ prāṇanilayaḥ prāṇabhṛt prāṇajīvanaḥ | tattvaṁ tattvavidekātmā janmamṛtyujarātigaḥ ||
Bhīṣma nói: Ngài là thước đo và thẩm quyền tự hiển của chân lý; là nơi nương của các hơi thở sinh mệnh; là Đấng nuôi dưỡng mọi sinh lực; là Đấng giữ chúng sinh sống nhờ sự vận hành của prāṇa. Ngài là Thực Tại, là Đấng biết Thực Tại, là Một không hai, và hoàn toàn vượt ngoài các điều kiện thân xác như sinh, tử và lão.
