Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
हंसकाकमयूराणां कृकलासकसारसाम् | रूपाणि च बलाकानां गृध्रचक्राज़््योरपि
haṃsakākamayūrāṇāṃ kṛkalāsakasārasām | rūpāṇi ca balākānāṃ gṛdhracakrājyor api ||
Vāsudeva nói: “Mahādeva (Śiva) mang hình tướng thiên nga, quạ, công, thằn lằn và hạc; Ngài cũng nhận hình dạng cò, kền kền và chim cakravāka. Như vậy, Đấng Chúa Tể hiển lộ trong vô số hình thái sinh linh, cho thấy thần tính thấm khắp muôn loài và không một tạo vật nào nằm ngoài phạm vi đáng được tôn kính.”
