भूमिदान-प्रसङ्गः । काश्यपी-पृथिवी तथा उतथ्य-वरुण-संवादः

एष धर्मो मयोद्दिष्ट: सरहस्य: सुखावह:
eṣa dharmo mayoddiṣṭaḥ sa-rahasyaḥ sukhāvahaḥ | atha dharmakāya dvitīyaṃ gupta-rahasyaṃ śṛṇu | pūrṇamāsyāṃ tithau candrodaya-samaye tāmra-bhājane madhu-miśritaṃ pākaṃ gṛhītvā yaś candrāya baliṃ nivedayati, tasya yo nitya-dharma-phala-lābhaḥ, taṃ śraddhayā śṛṇu | tasya dattaṃ taṃ baliṃ sādhya-rudrāditya-viśvedevāśvinīkumāra-marudgaṇa-vasu-devatā api gṛhṇanti; tena ca candrasya samudrasya ca vṛddhir bhavati | iti mayā rahasya-sahitaḥ sukhadaḥ dharmo varṇitaḥ ||
Skanda nói: “Đây là pháp (dharma) ta đã chỉ dạy—ẩn chứa nghĩa kín bên trong và sinh ra an lạc. Nay hãy nghe lời dạy kín thứ hai về dharma. Vào ngày rằm, đúng lúc trăng mọc, nếu một người lấy món ngọt trộn mật đựng trong đồ đồng và dâng làm lễ vật (bali) lên Mặt Trăng, thì hãy lắng nghe với lòng tin về quả báo bền lâu của nếp thiện hằng ngày mà người ấy đạt được. Lễ vật ấy không chỉ được Mặt Trăng thọ nhận, mà còn được các Sādhyas, Rudras, Ādityas, Viśvedevas, đôi Aśvin, đoàn Marut và các Vasu thọ nhận; và nhờ hành vi ấy, Mặt Trăng và đại dương được nói là tăng trưởng. Như vậy ta đã giảng bày một dharma lợi ích, kèm theo lý do bí mật của nó.”
