अध्याय १३२ — कर्मणा मनसा वाचा: स्वर्गमार्गः तथा आयुर्विपाकः
Adhyāya 132 — The path to heaven through deed, mind, and speech; karmic results for lifespan
देवता: पितरश्वैव उत्सवे पर्वणीषु वा । निराशा: प्रतिगच्छन्ति कश्मलोपहताद गृहात्
devatāḥ pitaraś caiva utsave parvaṇīṣu vā | nirāśāḥ pratigacchanti kaśmalopahatād gṛhāt ||
Bhīṣma nói rằng khi một gia thất bị đánh gục bởi sự ô uế đạo đức và cảnh rối ren, chư thiên và tổ tiên không thọ nhận sự thờ phụng của nhà ấy. Dẫu là ngày hội hay ngày hành trì thiêng liêng, họ vẫn rời khỏi ngôi nhà nhuốm tội trong nỗi thất vọng, bởi lòng kính lễ phát ra từ đời sống gia đình bại hoại thì không kết quả.
