Conduct of the Virtuous Wife

तपस्विनो धृतिमत: प्रमोद: समुपागत: । एतत्‌ पृच्छामि ते विद्वन्नभिवाद्य प्रणम्य च

bhīṣma uvāca | tapasvino dhṛtimataḥ pramodaḥ samupāgataḥ | etat pṛcchāmi te vidvann abhivādya praṇamya ca |

Bhīṣma nói: “Niềm hoan hỷ bỗng đến với ngài—dẫu ngài là bậc khổ hạnh, vững vàng trong tự chế. Vì vậy, hỡi bậc học giả, sau khi kính chào và đảnh lễ, ta xin hỏi: vì sao ngài vừa mỉm cười? Tiếng cười ấy do đâu mà khởi? Xin nói rõ nguyên do của niềm vui bất ngờ ấy.”
