Dāna–Tapaḥ Praśaṃsā and Gṛhastha-Upadeśa
Maitreya
धर्ममूलां श्रियं प्राप्य पाप्मा नष्ट इहाद्य मे । भूतपूर्व कीटने कहा--भगवन्! आपके ही प्रयत्नसे मैं अधिकाधिक सुखकी अवस्थाको प्राप्त होता गया हूँ। अब इस जन्ममें धर्ममूलक सम्पत्ति पाकर मेरा सारा पाप नष्ट हो गया
dharmamūlāṃ śriyaṃ prāpya pāpmā naṣṭa ihādya me |
Con sâu nói: “Bạch Thế Tôn, nhờ đạt được phú quý đặt nền trên dharma, tội lỗi của con hôm nay đã bị tiêu diệt ngay tại đây. Chính do nỗ lực của Ngài mà con cứ lần lượt đạt đến những trạng thái hạnh phúc ngày càng lớn; nay, trong kiếp này, nhờ có của cải chân chính, mọi nghiệp bất thiện trước kia của con đều đã được gột sạch.”

Prosperity that is rooted in dharma is ethically transformative: when wealth and well-being arise from righteous conduct, they become instruments of inner purification, dissolving prior sin (pāpmā) rather than reinforcing it.
