Prohibition of Appropriating Brahmin Property

Brahmasva

Educational Q&A

A householder can lessen or remove grave moral fault through two complementary disciplines: svādhyāya (study/recitation of Veda and śāstra) and dāna (charitable giving in varied forms), as affirmed by the wise.

The speaker identified as a Caṇḍāla states a dharma-teaching: citing the authority of manīṣins (wise authorities), he explains how a gṛhastha purifies himself—through scriptural study and diverse acts of charity.
