स ऋषीन् वाहयामास वरदानमदान्वित: । परिहीणक्रियश्वैव दुर्बलत्वमुपेयिवान्
sa ṛṣīn vāhayāmāsa varadānamadānvitāḥ | parihīṇakriyaś caiva durbalatvam upeyivān |
Bhīṣma nói: Vì say men kiêu mạn do ân phúc ban cho, hắn bắt các bậc hiền triết làm kẻ khiêng chở mình. Bởi vậy hắn lìa bỏ chánh hạnh và các bổn phận đã định; rồi chìm vào suy nhược—mất đi sức mạnh phát sinh từ dharma.
