कुलपतिरुवाच न शक्‍्यमिह शूद्रेण लिड्गमाश्रित्य वर्तितुम्‌ । आस्यतां यदि ते बुद्धि: शुश्रूषानिरतो भव

Transliteration

kulapatir uvāca na śakyam iha śūdreṇa liṅgam āśritya vartitum | āsyatāṃ yadi te buddhiḥ śuśrūṣā-nirato bhava |

Translation

Vị chủ tể tịnh xá nói: “Trong āśrama này, một người Śūdra không thể ở lại bằng cách mang lấy những dấu hiệu bề ngoài của sự xuất gia. Nếu ý ngươi là muốn ở đây, thì hãy ở mà không cần hình thức ấy, và chuyên tâm phụng sự các bậc hiền thánh. Chỉ nhờ sự phụng sự thôi, ngươi sẽ đạt đến cõi lành thù thắng—điều ấy không nghi ngờ.”
