FAQs

Indirectly: it grounds spiritual teaching in Vedic revelation by emphasizing that true dharma and divine greatness are to be understood through Veda-attested instruction, which in the Kurma Purana framework supports realization-oriented dharma leading toward Self-knowledge.

No specific technique is named in this verse; it establishes the scriptural basis for later discipline—dharma “shown by the Veda”—which in the Kurma Purana commonly frames sādhana such as devotion, restraint, and (in broader Kurma teaching) Pāśupata-oriented yogic observances as Veda-aligned.

By praising “Devadeva” while simultaneously rooting dharma in the Veda, the verse supports the Purana’s integrative stance: the supreme divine is praised through shared Vedic authority, a foundation used elsewhere in the text to harmonize Shaiva and Vaishnava devotion rather than oppose them.
