Kurma Purana — Purva Bhaga, Shloka 54

Adhyāya 25 — Liṅga-māhātmya (The Chapter on the Liṅga): Hari’s Śiva-Worship and the Fiery Pillar Theophany

FAQs

Indirectly: it frames Kṛṣṇa as a “knower of Brahman,” signaling that the forthcoming instruction concerns Brahman/Ātman-realization rather than merely ritual or worldly counsel.

No specific practice is stated in this verse; it sets the pedagogical scene—teacher speaking, attentive listeners—which is the Purāṇic prelude to yogic and brahmavidyā-oriented instruction (śravaṇa as the first step toward inner discipline).

Not explicitly in this line; however, by emphasizing Brahmavidyā (supreme knowledge), the text aligns with the Kurma Purana’s broader non-sectarian tendency where ultimate truth transcends sectarian labels, supporting Shaiva–Vaishnava synthesis in adjacent teachings.
