FAQs

This verse is narrative and does not directly define Ātman; it foregrounds mental agitation (saṁbhrānta-mānasā), indirectly contrasting with the steadiness of mind praised elsewhere in the Kurma Purana’s yoga-oriented teachings.

No explicit practice is taught here, but the act of restraint (nivārayāmāsa) aligns with preparatory yogic virtues like dama (self-restraint) and śama (mental calm), which support later instructions associated with Kurma Purana yoga discourse.

It does not explicitly address Śiva–Viṣṇu unity; it functions as storyline movement. The Kurma Purana’s broader Shaiva–Vaishnava synthesis appears more directly in its theological and yoga sections rather than in this domestic narrative line.
