Ātmā’s Unborn Nature and Fearlessness at Death
Parīkṣit’s Final Instruction
This verse explains that the mind manufactures bodies, guṇas, and karmic activity for the self; since the mind itself is shaped by Māyā, the jīva’s cycle of repeated birth and death continues.
He is clarifying the mechanism of bondage—how identification driven by the Māyā-shaped mind leads the jīva to accept guṇas, karma, and repeated embodiments—so the listener can seek liberation through spiritual realization and devotion.
Watch the mind’s narratives that produce identity and reaction; redirect the mind through sādhana (hearing, chanting, remembrance of Bhagavān) so it no longer serves Māyā but becomes an instrument for bhakti and freedom from compulsive karma.
