Mārkaṇḍeya Ṛṣi Meets Lord Śiva: Devotee as Living Tīrtha and the Lord’s Māyā
न ह्यम्मयानि तीर्थानि न देवाश्चेतनोज्झिता: । ते पुनन्त्युरुकालेन यूयं दर्शनमात्रत: ॥ २३ ॥
na hy am-mayāni tīrthāni na devāś cetanojjhitāḥ te punanty uru-kālena yūyaṁ darśana-mātrataḥ
Không phải chỉ những khối nước mới là thánh địa, và tượng thần vô tri cũng không phải là thần linh thật sự đáng thờ. Vì cái nhìn bên ngoài không thấu được tinh túy cao cả, sông thánh và chư thiên ấy chỉ thanh tẩy sau thời gian dài; còn các bhakta như ngươi thanh tẩy ngay tức khắc, chỉ cần được thấy.
