This verse says that many mighty deeds were displayed in the world, indicating how extraordinary power can be revealed while still moving within human society and its visible duties.
The verse contrasts extraordinary feats with ordinary enjoyments and opulent yajñas to show a complete picture of life in that age—public heroism, social life, and Vedic duty—without implying spiritual downfall for the divinely guided.
One can pursue responsibilities and lawful comforts while keeping higher purpose central—using strength, success, and resources for dharma and service rather than ego and indulgence.
