Kṛṣṇa Teases Rukmiṇī; Her Devotional Reply and the Lord’s Assurance
अस्त्वम्बुजाक्ष मम ते चरणानुराग आत्मन् रतस्य मयि चानतिरिक्तदृष्टे: । यर्ह्यस्य वृद्धय उपात्तरजोऽतिमात्रो मामीक्षसे तदु ह न: परमानुकम्पा ॥ ४६ ॥
astv ambujākṣa mama te caraṇānurāga ātman ratasya mayi cānatirikta-dṛṣṭeḥ yarhy asya vṛddhaya upātta-rajo-’ti-mātro mām īkṣase tad u ha naḥ paramānukampā
Hỡi Đấng mắt hoa sen, mặc dù Ngài hài lòng trong chính mình và do đó hiếm khi hướng sự chú ý về phía thiếp, xin hãy ban phước cho thiếp tình yêu bền vững đối với đôi chân của Ngài. Chính khi Ngài đảm nhận sự thống trị của đam mê để biểu hiện vũ trụ, Ngài liếc nhìn thiếp, cho thiếp thấy đâu thực sự là lòng thương xót lớn nhất của Ngài.
In text 20 of this chapter Lord Kṛṣṇa stated, “Always satisfied within Ourselves, We care nothing for wives, children and wealth.” Here Rukmiṇī-devī humbly replies, “Yes, You take pleasure within Yourself and therefore rarely look at me.”
