Aditi’s Payo-vrata and Viṣṇu’s Promise to Appear as Her Son

āyuḥ paraṁ vapur abhīṣṭam atulya-lakṣmīr dyo-bhū-rasāḥ sakala-yoga-guṇās tri-vargaḥ jñānaṁ ca kevalam ananta bhavanti tuṣṭāt tvatto nṛṇāṁ kim u sapatna-jayādir āśīḥ
Hỡi Đấng Vô Hạn, khi Ngài hài lòng, con người dễ dàng đạt được thọ mạng như Brahmā, thân thể như ý, phú quý vô song, hưởng thụ ở trời–đất–rasātala, tam mục tiêu thế gian, mọi thành tựu yoga và trí tuệ thanh tịnh; huống chi những điều nhỏ nhoi như thắng kẻ đối địch.
This verse states that when the Lord is pleased, He can grant everything—from long life, prosperity, and dominion to yoga perfections and even pure spiritual knowledge—showing that all results ultimately depend on His grace.
Aditi calls Him “Ananta” (Unlimited) to emphasize that the Lord’s power to give worldly success as well as liberation-oriented knowledge is boundless and not constrained by material limitations.
Prioritize devotion and integrity over obsession with outcomes: by cultivating sincere worship, gratitude, and dharmic living, one learns to see career wins, social victories, and comforts as secondary to spiritual progress and divine grace.
