यावदस्या गोपतिर्नोपशृणुयादृचः स्वयम्। चरेदस्य तावद् गोषु नास्य श्रुत्वा गृहे वसेत्

IAST Transliteration

yā́vad asyá gopátir nópaśṛṇuyā́d ṛ́caḥ svayám | cáred asyá tā́vad góṣu nā́syá śrutvā́ gṛhé vaset ||

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

So long as his cattle-lord shall not himself overhear the verses, so long let him move about among the kine; nor, having heard, let him abide within the house.

Translation

Chừng nào chủ đàn bò (người chăn) chưa tự mình nghe lén các câu ṛc (thánh tụng), chừng ấy hãy để người ấy đi lại giữa đàn bò; nhưng đã nghe rồi thì chớ ở lại trong nhà.
