मार्गादेशिकम् परभूमियोग्यमरियुद्धप्रतिलोममटवीबलप्रायः शत्रुर्वा बिल्वं बिल्वेन हन्यताम्ण् अल्पः प्रसारो हन्तव्यः इत्यटवीबलकालः ॥ कZ_०९.२.०८ ॥

Transliteration

mārgādeśikam parabhūmiyogyam ariyuddha-pratilomam aṭavī-bala-prāyaḥ śatrur vā bilvaṃ bilvena hanyatām; alpaḥ prasāro hantavyaḥ ity aṭavī-bala-kālaḥ |

Translation

Khi kẻ thù chủ yếu là lực lượng rừng núi/bộ tộc—thông thạo đường sá, thích hợp để hoạt động trên lãnh thổ người khác và chiến đấu theo lối bất quy tắc—thì phải đối phó bằng chính loại lực lượng như hắn (“bilva đánh bilva”): giao chiến bằng các hoạt động hạn chế, có kiểm soát và tiêu diệt hắn bằng cơ động bị giới hạn. Đây là tình huống để sử dụng lực lượng rừng núi.
