Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Tantra","secondary_vidya":"Philosophy","practical_application":"Subtle-body practice map: describes movement from brahmarandhra through suṣumnā to ādhāra (mūlādhāra), establishing a visualization route for kuṇḍalinī/śakti or prāṇa circulation and inner stabilization at a lunar ‘full-moon’ locus.","sutra_style":true}

Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Description","entry_title":"Brahmarandhra-to-Ādhāra descent through Suṣumnā (pūrṇendu-sthāna)","lookup_keywords":["brahmarandhra","suṣumnā","ādhāra","mūlādhāra","pūrṇendu"],"quick_summary":"The verse outlines a vertical inner pathway: a stirred principle descends from the cranial aperture into the central channel and reaches the base center, abiding in a ‘full-moon’ station—used for cakra-nāḍī visualization."}

Alamkara Type: Rupaka

Concept: The body is a yogic cosmos with central channel and stations; directing awareness/principle through suṣumnā reorganizes consciousness toward steadiness and purity.

Application: In meditation, trace a slow inner movement from crown to base along the central channel, resting attention at the base ‘lunar’ calm point to stabilize prāṇa and mind.

Khanda Section: Yoga & Tantra (Kundalini–Cakra–Nāḍī-Vidyā)

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A transparent yogic body diagram: crown (brahmarandhra) at top, a central luminous channel (suṣumnā) running down to the base circle (ādhāra/mūlādhāra); a stirred light descends and rests in a radiant full-moon disc at the base.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural, stylized human figure with bold outlines, central blue-white suṣumnā, crown lotus at top, base mandala with a white full-moon disc, sacred geometry motifs","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting, gold for the channel and lotuses, prominent moon-disc at the base with embossed gold, rich reds and blues, symmetrical yogic icon-diagram composition","mysore_prompt":"Mysore painting, clean instructional subtle-body chart, labeled crown and base centers, soft gradients for the descending light, emphasis on clarity and proportion","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature, refined anatomical-yogic illustration style, delicate lines for the channel, luminous orb descending, ornate moon-disc at base, thin floral border"}

Sandhi Resolution Notes:

FAQs

It describes a yogic technical process of subtle movement through the Suṣumnā nāḍī between the Brahmarandhra and the Ādhāra (Mūlādhāra), referencing a ‘full-moon’ (candra) station as an inner locus of stabilization.

Beyond myth and ritual, the Agni Purāṇa preserves practical yogic-tantric anatomy—nāḍīs, cranial Brahmarandhra, and chakra/maṇḍala terminology—showing its wide coverage of inner disciplines alongside other sciences.

The verse frames inner control of prāṇic/śakti movement as a means of yogic steadiness and purification, implying progress toward higher realization through disciplined ascent/descent within the central channel.
