FAQs

It gives a mantra-style intention for śayyā-dāna (donating a bed): dedicating the act toward dharma–kāma–artha attainment and praying for an “unempty” (fulfilled, auspicious) household life across births.

It exemplifies the Purana’s practical dharma content—specific dāna procedures with stated outcomes (phala)—alongside theology (invoking Keśava and Śiva), showing how ritual action, ethics, and devotion are integrated.

By giving a bed in charity with this resolve, the donor seeks lasting auspiciousness in domestic life—symbolized by an “unempty bed”—and merit that continues “birth after birth,” aligning personal well-being with devotional dharma.
