Chapter 153 — Brahmacarya-āśrama-dharma
The Dharma of the Student Stage
गर्भात्तु द्वादशे वैश्ये षोडशाब्दादितो न हि मुञ्जानां वल्कलानान्तु क्रमान्मौज्ज्याः प्रकीर्तिताः
garbhāttu dvādaśe vaiśye ṣoḍaśābdādito na hi muñjānāṃ valkalānāntu kramānmaujjyāḥ prakīrtitāḥ
Đối với giai cấp Vaiśya, lễ upanayana nên được cử hành vào năm thứ mười hai tính từ lúc thụ thai; không nên thực hiện từ năm thứ mười sáu trở đi (vượt quá giới hạn ấy). Và theo thứ tự, dây thắt lưng thiêng (maujī) được tuyên định làm từ cỏ muñja và từ sợi vỏ cây.
