Ayurvedic therapeutics: an otic instillation (karṇa-pūraṇa) using the expressed juices of garlic, fresh ginger, and śigru, or alternatively ginger-infused oil, to relieve ear pain and related ailments.
Alongside theology and ritual, the Agni Purana preserves applied medical instructions—specific formulations and routes of administration (ear-filling with herbal juice/oil)—showing its wide-ranging, encyclopedic coverage of practical sciences like Ayurveda.
While primarily medical, such guidance reflects the Purāṇic ideal of dharma through protection of health—supporting bodily well-being so one can sustain daily duties, worship, and disciplined living.
