Related Themes: Agni Purana 282 (krimi-hara remedies cluster)
Ayurvedic therapeutic knowledge: an anthelmintic (krimi-hara) formulation using kvātha (decoction) and kalka (paste) with pippalī, raisins, triphalā, bhr̥ṅgarāja, dry ginger, honey, and ghee to destroy intestinal parasites.
It shows the Agni Purana functioning as a compendium beyond theology—preserving practical Ayurvedic pharmacy (drug forms like kvātha/kalka and adjuvants like honey/ghee) alongside other disciplines, making it a wide-ranging manual of applied knowledge.
By prescribing a remedy that removes internal affliction (krimi), the text frames bodily purification and health as supportive of dharma—enabling cleanliness, steadiness in vows, and fitness for worship and disciplined living.
