Concept: Ritual efficacy depends on correct dik-vibhāga: benefic/protective and chthonic/ancestral forces are honored in their proper loci to maintain balance and avert disturbance.
Application: In homa/pūjā, keep a clear directional layout: treat the fire as the primary receiving mouth for Agni-class recipients; reserve the south for Caṇḍikā and Pitṛ-related offerings, following safety and purity protocols.

It specifies the correct placement/distribution of offerings (bali/upacāra) in a ritual layout: certain deities receive offerings in the fire itself, while Caṇḍikā, the Pitṛs, and Daitya-class beings are assigned to the southern side.
It preserves a compact ritual-technology map—linking deities and spirit-classes to precise spatial directions (dik-sthāpanā). Such procedural details are characteristic of the Agni Purāṇa’s catalog-like coverage of worship manuals alongside many other disciplines.
Following the prescribed directional allocations is understood to harmonize the rite with cosmic order, properly appease protective and obstructive forces (bhūtas/daityas), and honor the Pitṛs—supporting purification, protection, and ancestral merit.
