The Origin of Dhanada (Kubera) from Vāyu and the Observance of the Ekādaśī Vow

ब्रह्मणः सृष्टिकामस्य मुखाद् वायुर् विनिर्ययौ । प्रचण्डशर्करावर्षी तं ब्रह्मा प्रत्यषेधयत् । मूर्तो भवस्व शान्तश्च तत्रोक्तो मूर्तिमान् भवत् ॥ ३०.४ ॥

brahmaṇaḥ sṛṣṭikāmasya mukhād vāyur viniryayau | pracaṇḍaśarkarāvarṣī taṃ brahmā pratyaṣedhayat | mūrto bhavasva śāntaś ca tatrokto mūrtimān bhavat || 30.4 ||

سَرشٹی کی خواہش رکھنے والے برہما کے منہ سے وायु نمودار ہوا۔ وہ سخت کنکریلی بارش برسا رہا تھا؛ برہما نے اسے روک دیا۔ وہاں ‘مُجسَّم ہو اور پُرسکون ہو’ کہے جانے پر وہ صاحبِ صورت ہو گیا۔
