मथुरावासिनं श्रुत्वा गोकर्णं स शुकस्तदा ॥ पुत्रं संस्थाप्य चात्मानं गोकर्णस्य यथेप्सितम् ॥

mathurā-vāsinaṃ śrutvā gokarṇaṃ sa śukas tadā | putraṃ saṃsthāpya cātmānaṃ gokarṇasya yathepsitam ||

جب شُک نے سنا کہ گوکرن متھرا کا باشندہ ہے، تو اُس وقت اُس نے—اپنے بیٹے کو حسبِ دستور قائم کر کے اور اپنے آپ کو بھی—گوکرن کی خواہش کے مطابق قدم بڑھایا۔
