वदंति सततं लोका नियमेन समागताः । देशाश्च नगर ग्रामा भयाक्रांताः समंततः । मुनीन्वसिष्ठप्रमुखान्पप्रच्छ च स्वयं नृपः
vadaṃti satataṃ lokā niyamena samāgatāḥ | deśāśca nagara grāmā bhayākrāṃtāḥ samaṃtataḥ | munīnvasiṣṭhapramukhānpapraccha ca svayaṃ nṛpaḥ
لوگ ضابطے اور نذرِ عبادت کے ساتھ جمع ہو کر مسلسل اس آفت کا ذکر کرتے رہے؛ ملک، شہر اور گاؤں ہر طرف خوف میں گھر گئے۔ تب بادشاہ خود وِسِشٹھ وغیرہ اکابر مُنیوں کے پاس گیا اور پوچھا۔
