देव्युवाच । कुत्र कुत्र महादेव जलस्नानाद्विशुध्यति । किमर्थं सागरे दोषः प्राप्यते कौतुकं महत्

دیوی نے کہا: ‘اے مہادیو! کن کن مقامات پر پانی سے سنان کرنے سے انسان پاک ہوتا ہے؟ اور سمندر میں کیوں کہا جاتا ہے کہ عیب (دوش) لگتا ہے؟ یہ میرے لیے بڑی حیرت کی بات ہے۔’
