bharadvāja uvāca | jīryaṃti jīryataḥ keśā daṃtā jīryaṃti jīryataḥ | cakṣuḥ śrotre ca jīryete tṛṣṇaikā na tu jīryate
Bharadvāja
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Scene: Bharadvāja, compassionate yet firm, enumerates signs of aging: greying hair, worn teeth, dimming eyes and ears; behind him the sea and temple stand timeless, contrasting the perishing body with enduring dharma.
Physical faculties fade with age, but craving persists unless consciously restrained through dharma and detachment.
Prabhāsa-kṣetra; the site’s glory is paired with inner teaching that uproots desire.
None directly; it is a contemplative instruction encouraging vairāgya.
