प्राणात्प्रजापतेर्जन्म तस्य दक्षस्य कीर्तितम् । अस्मिन्मन्वन्तरे देवि दक्षः प्राचेतसोऽभवत्
prāṇātprajāpaterjanma tasya dakṣasya kīrtitam | asminmanvantare devi dakṣaḥ prācetaso'bhavat
روایت ہے کہ دکش کی پیدائش پرجاپتی کے پران، یعنی حیات بخش سانس سے ہوئی۔ اور اسی منونتر میں، اے دیوی، دکش ‘پراچیتس’ کے نام سے معروف ہوا۔
