Śiva (Īśvara)
Tirtha: Brahmakuṇḍa (context) and Bhairaveśvara (associated shrine)
Type: kund
Listener: Mahādevī (Pārvatī)
Scene: Śiva (Īśvara) instructs Devī: a four-faced Mahādeva as Bhairaveśvara stands in the northeast of a sacred pond (Brahmakuṇḍa), holding a protective stance over the tirtha; pilgrims approach with folded hands.
Sacred geography is purposeful: specific forms of Śiva are installed to protect tīrthas and to remove sin from pilgrims.
Bhairaveśvara located in the Īśāna (northeast) of Brahmakuṇḍa within Prabhāsakṣetra.
Pilgrimage instruction: one should go (gacchet) to Bhairaveśvara as part of tīrtha-darśana.
