tasmāttvamapi cāsmākaṃ bāhya eva bhaviṣyasi | suśīlo'pi hi duḥśīlo nāmnā saṃkīrtyase budhaiḥ
Brāhmaṇas (Dvijas)
Type: kshetra
Scene: The brāhmaṇas pronounce excommunication; Suśīla stands isolated at the edge of the assembly, his name symbolically inverted—‘Suśīla’ to ‘Duḥśīla’—as onlookers avert their gaze.
Moral identity is upheld as conduct-based: a good name without good conduct is reversed by the judgment of the wise.
No specific site is named in this verse; it advances the moral narrative within the tīrtha chapter.
None; it is a pronouncement of social-religious exclusion and reputational reversal.
