durvāsā uvāca | sarvapāpaviśuddhyarthaṃ datte kṛṣṇājine dvijaḥ | prayaccha tilapātrāṇi guptapāpasya śuddhaye
Durvāsā
Listener: Duḥśīla
Scene: Durvāsā, stern yet compassionate, instructs the donor about gifting a black antelope-skin and sesame vessels; ritual items displayed: folded kṛṣṇājina, bronze/copper pots filled with sesame.
True purification addresses both visible and hidden faults; prescribed charity, done with dharmic intent, is a means of inner cleansing.
The teaching is situated in Nāgarakhaṇḍa’s tīrtha framework, where rites performed in relation to the shrine and tīrtha gain heightened purificatory power.
Dāna: giving kṛṣṇājina (black antelope-skin) and offering tilapātra (sesame vessels) specifically for purification of hidden sins.
