दूरादतिथयो यस्य गृहमायांति निर्वृताः । स गृहस्थ इति प्रोक्तः शेषाश्च गृहरक्षिणः
dūrādatithayo yasya gṛhamāyāṃti nirvṛtāḥ | sa gṛhastha iti proktaḥ śeṣāśca gṛharakṣiṇaḥ
جس کے گھر مہمان دور سے بھی خوشی سے آتے ہیں، وہی حقیقی معنی میں ‘گِرہستھ’ کہلاتا ہے؛ باقی تو محض گھر کے نگہبان ہیں۔
