इति ते कथिता संख्या अर्थं चैषां श्रृणु द्विज । अस्मिन्नर्थे चेति हासं तव वक्ष्यामि यः पुरा
iti te kathitā saṃkhyā arthaṃ caiṣāṃ śrṛṇu dvija | asminnarthe ceti hāsaṃ tava vakṣyāmi yaḥ purā
یوں میں نے ان کی تعداد بیان کر دی؛ اب اے دِوِج برہمن! ان کا مفہوم سنو۔ اسی معنی کے باب میں میں تمہیں ایک قدیم، نصیحت آموز حکایت سناؤں گا جو کبھی ہنسی کا سبب بنی تھی۔
