durācārānbhavānasmānātmadrohaparāyaṇān | aho paśyata no mauḍhyaṃ jānaṃtastava bhāvinīm
Devāḥ (the gods), repentance/confession to Śiva
Scene: Devas with downcast faces confess their wickedness and folly before Mahādeva, gesturing toward Umā’s rightful place as His destined consort; atmosphere heavy with remorse.
Admitting one’s error and delusion is the first step toward grace; even the gods model repentance before Śiva.
No tīrtha is mentioned; the verse centers on moral self-assessment in the Umā–Maheśvara narrative.
No formal rite is stated; the implied practice is confession, humility, and seeking pardon.
