prayāṇaṃ kurvate yasya prāṇā me muktimaṃḍape | samāmanupraviṣṭotra tiṣṭhedyāvadahaṃ khalu
Skanda
Tirtha: Mukti Maṇḍapa (Kāśī)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Traditional interlocutor (often Pārvatī)
Scene: A dying devotee in Mukti Maṇḍapa, surrounded by lamps and quiet attendants; subtle, compassionate manifestation of Śiva entering with the departing prāṇas—shown as a luminous presence guiding a small soul-light upward, remaining beside it.
Kāśī is portrayed as a direct sphere of divine grace, where the Lord personally accompanies the departing soul toward liberation.
The Mukti Maṇḍapa in Kāśī, a liberation-conferring sacred precinct.
Not a ritual but an eschatological teaching: the supreme benefit of departing (dying) within the Mukti Maṇḍapa.
