śrutaṃ nāmāpi liṃgasya yasya janmatrayārjitam | vṛjinaṃ nāśayettasya prādurbhāvaṃ bruve mune
Skanda
Tirtha: Ratneśvara
Type: temple
Listener: Agastya
Scene: Skanda declares the extraordinary power: merely hearing the liṅga’s name destroys sins of three births; the scene conveys a wave of sonic sanctity, as if the name itself radiates light.
Divine names are purifying; sincere hearing/remembrance of a sacred liṅga’s name can eradicate deep karmic impurity.
The Ratneśvara liṅga tradition in Kāśī is being introduced through its name-hearing benefit.
Nāma-śravaṇa (hearing the sacred name) is presented as spiritually efficacious.
