yallakṣmīnāmamātrāptyā naro no māti kutracit | sākṣātsamīkṣyatāṃ lakṣmīṃ kṛtakṛtyo bhavanmuniḥ
Narrator (contextual; speaker not explicit in the verse)
Scene: A sage instructs that mere acquisition/utterance of Lakṣmī’s Name prevents perishing, yet urges direct beholding of Lakṣmī for complete fulfillment; the moment is contemplative, like a vow before pilgrimage.
Even the sacred Name grants protection and auspiciousness; direct darśana of the divine is praised as the culmination of spiritual effort.
The verse functions as a lead-in to the Śrīśaila context in this adhyāya rather than naming a tīrtha explicitly.
No formal rite is prescribed; the emphasis is on nāma (holy name) and sākṣāt-darśana (direct vision).
